Interventions

The "KIA - Buckle Up" project implements targeted interventions to enhance road safety education and infrastructure in the Delhi-NCR region. 

Year 1 

Road Safety Awareness Programs through School Workshops

  • Target: 100 schools (30% Government, 70% Private)

  • Scope: Conducting 720 workshops to raise road safety consciousness among 26,000 students from 1st to 8th grade.

  • Content: Traffic rules, pedestrian rules, motorcyclist rules, basic road signs, traffic regulations, back seat ride safety, and pillion rider safety.

  • Outcome: Empowering students to act as change agents, fostering a ripple effect of awareness within the school and community.

Simulator Experiential Learning Workshops

  • Target: 20 out of 100 schools

  • Scope: Setting up 120 live simulation experiences for 5,000 students from 1st to 5th grade, enabling them to practice riding bikes and cars while adhering to road traffic rules and regulations.

Year 2 

Installation of Road Safety Infrastructure

  • Objective: Significantly reduce road accidents and fatalities on the Gurgaon-Faridabad Road.​

  • Scope: Strategically install 750 road crash barriers, traffic signs, lights, and pavement markers at accident-prone locations, intersections, and vulnerable areas as per recommendations from the Gurgaon Traffic Police.
